Courses: Best Practice Project Finance Modelling and Advanced Project Finance Modelling

Best Practice Project Finance Modelling

(4 half days course) is Excel intensive, building a cash flow model from scratch. We keep it very practical, focusing on model architecture, including formatting, binary flags and referencing, to ensure clarity for the builder and end user. We look at different Excel techniques to implement efficient sensitivity and scenario analysis (flex) through the implementation of tools like data validation lists and data tables. Participants will leave with a strong conceptual understanding of cash flow modelling.

Dates: February 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th (9am to 1pm New York time)

Advanced Project Finance Modelling

(4 half days course) takes the feasibility model from the Best Practice course and builds out a fully bankable model. We focus on debt sculpting, modelling for multiple debt facilities, refinancing scenarios and developing working capital facilities. We also go into technical accounting concepts, including how to integrate three-way financial statements into project finance models (and debug errors) and modelling tax and depreciation. We also demonstrate how to incorporate VBA (Excel macros). For example, how to create and implement copy and paste macros to automate the debt sizing process and DSCR optimisation.
